Welcome and Thank Yous

Welcome to the new site for Trill Fitness! It has been a busy week for several people working hard to get this site up and running. I wanted to take a minute and thank them for their hard work!

CD Sleeve Design by Adam Robinson

Adam Robinson is my creative friend and graphic design genius! He created several designs for me to choose and worked very hard to develop and design the In His Strength CD sleeve. His work isn’t over either! Adam, thank you so much for helping with this project. You have been a joy to work with! Thank you for thinking outside the box, truly caring about your product, your attention to detail and most of all your love for God! I am thankful that I can attend church with you and Holly (his beautiful wife). Adam is a professional graphic designer. If you would like to contact him, let me know and I will forward your information along.

The creative team of Kerrin and Megan Russell

Megan

It was a bit of a fluke (or what I would call God’s sovereign kindness to me) that I would have “met” this couple. Bob Kauflin (writer of the Worship Matters Blog) posted his daughters sight on his website. I contacted them to see about a quote for a logo design. Megan jumped right in and within a day or so had the design completed! Megan has since designed my letter head and business cards! Again, in one day! Megan is a hard-worker and diligent and I am thankful to have “met” her. Thank you again Megan! You may contact Megan at her site Perceive Design.

Kerrin

Kerrin is Megan’s husband. He has spent countless hours designing this website. He formatted everything, designed the look and layout, and answered many many questions in regards to website and technology. You see, I am not very knowledgeable in this area, I’ll be surprised if this post even uploads correctly, Kerrin has been very gracious to me to help me learn. Most of all, he has done everything that I have asked of him and gone above by offering me better ideas! He has continually said that his desire is to see the site succeed. I have been humbled by their (Kerrin and Megan’s) kindness to me and willingness to work so hard for a complete stranger! Thank you! If you are interested in learning more about Kerrin’s new web hosting and design company please check out his site Super That. You’ll be glad you did!

My Story

When I was younger I was very active. I ran track, cheered at my school, was on a competitive tumbling/cheerleading team, and danced. I was a busy kid! During my senior year of high school I became weight conscious. I also began to compare myself to the much smaller girls that I cheered with on the competitive cheer team. Once I went to college the comparisons and fear only grew and I began to abuse laxatives and would at times make myself vomit. I realized it was a problem but never really shared it with anyone because I didn’t do it frequently. What I didn’t realize at the time was that it was a sinful craving for others approval of me and a discontentment for how the Lord made me.

Once I became a Christian the Lord began to reveal to me true beauty. God revealed to me through Proverbs 31:30 that what’s beautiful to him is a knowledge and fear of him. All that I was striving for was fleeting! I can honestly say that I have not struggled with the sinful desire to be thin for selfish gain. God in his gracious care for me began a work in my heart that I can be confident he will complete (Phil. 1: 6).

With that said, I am thankful for the body God has given me and I hope to glorify him by taking care of my body. My desires have changed from wanting to look good and be pleasing in the sight of man, to wanting to be healthy. I am learning something new everyday about the fitness industry, the benefits of exercise, how to make the most out of a workout, and general nutrition. I look forward to sharing what I learn with you!

Just a note: I am a mom first so though I hope to read and reread my entries for grammatical errors will you forgive me if I do not find them? Thank you. Also, I am not a licensed nutritionist so anything that you read pertaining to food is not a prescription it’s a suggestion! Thank you again.
